Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal information Minan Engineering Services collects, why, and how we handle it. It is written to meet the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). Last updated 3 October 2026.

Who we are

Minan Pty Ltd, ABN 22 652 418 436, trading as Minan Engineering Services, Brisbane, Queensland. For work in the Middle East, services are provided by Minan Engineering Projects Management Consultancy LLC SPC, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. In this policy, "we" and "us" means both entities. You can contact us about privacy at mehul@minan.com.au or on +61 481 392 922.

What we collect

We collect only what we need to answer an enquiry or deliver an engagement:
  • Contact details you give us through the website form, by email, by phone or in person: your name, organisation, email address, phone number, sector and the content of your message.
  • Information shared during an engagement, such as project correspondence, site information and documents your organisation provides. Commercial information about an organisation is not personal information, but it can include the names and contact details of its staff.
  • Website usage data: our hosting provider records standard server logs (IP address, browser, pages requested, time) for security and troubleshooting. If we enable website analytics, it will be configured to anonymise IP addresses and we will update this policy.
We do not collect sensitive information (such as health, religious or political information) through this website, and we ask you not to send it to us.

How we use it

  • To respond to your enquiry and arrange a call or meeting.
  • To scope, quote, deliver and invoice engineering and asset management services.
  • To keep records required by professional registration, insurance and tax law.
  • To send occasional direct communications about our services to existing clients and contacts, with an option to opt out in every message.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their marketing.

Where it is stored and how it is protected

Enquiries from this website are emailed to us and stored in Microsoft 365, with data held in Australia. The website itself is hosted on Amazon Web Services in Sydney, Australia, uses HTTPS encryption, is protected by a web application firewall, and is backed up to encrypted storage. Form submissions are not stored in the website database. We keep personal information for as long as it is needed for the purpose it was collected and for the retention periods required of a registered professional engineering practice, then delete or de-identify it.

Cookies

The website sets only the cookies needed for it to work, such as security and session cookies. It does not set advertising cookies. If we add analytics in future, we will say so here and give you a way to decline non-essential cookies.

Who we share it with

We disclose personal information only:
  • to service providers who process it on our behalf, principally Microsoft (email and file storage) and Amazon Web Services (website hosting), under their standard terms;
  • between our Australian and Abu Dhabi entities when an engagement spans both, in which case information may be accessed from the United Arab Emirates;
  • to specialist partner consultants working with us on your engagement, with your organisation's knowledge;
  • where required or authorised by law, or to a professional body or insurer in connection with a claim or complaint.

Access and correction

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, by emailing mehul@minan.com.au. We will respond within 30 days. There is no charge for a reasonable request.

Complaints

If you think we have mishandled your personal information, email us first and we will investigate and reply within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
